At the Western HS vs. Eastern HS football game, between the first and second quarter Zach Nelson is honored with the game ball by the Western team. Ronnie Smith handed him the ball. Money was collected throughout the stands to help the Nelson family. A monument was also dedicted before the game to honor veterans inspired by Nelsons bravery. Nelson was paralized July 5 of this year while serving in Afghanistan.
